Community: Ranken Jordan

Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital is one of a handful of hospitals in the United States that provide rehabilitation and subacute medical treatment for children, regardless of the family’s ability to pay.
On Saturday, May 20th our FATC participated in an awesome and memorable event. Sponsored by Cabelas, our guys helped the young patients at Ranken Jordan hospital with a “therapeutic” fishing day. Our lead for the event, Jim Craig, sends us his report about this day with the kids.
Nothing but smiles at Ranken Jordan, a pediatric bridge hospital in Maryland Heights. This past Saturday was their “Go Fish” event. Cabela’s brought their giant portable fishing pond and FATC brothers brought their skills and hearts. With a simple bobber, hook and worm we assisted the children and their families catch hundreds of willing bluegills. The smiles, laughs and sheer delight on the faces of the participants were priceless. It was FATC’s honor to help bring so much happiness to the children and their families who have faced such difficult challenges. Thank you to the guys that helped: Dave Beerbower, Bill Byington, Rudy Dodorico (and his grandson Isaiah), Miles Meyer, Roy Stueber, Bruce Sheffield, and Jim Craig. If you were to ask them, I think they had almost as much fun as the kids, maybe more.
We also received a nice note from Trom Procter, the head of marketing for Cabelas in St.Louis. Trom writes, “Thank you so much for coming and helping with the Ranken Jordan event! It was a great success, they had over 300 people come and the children LOVED it!! I think they want to make this an annual thing! I could not have done it without you, thank you again for your support!!”
Below are some pictures of this awesome day!
