Winter fly fishing usually calls for midges and maybe a few BWO but mostly midges. The caddis, mayfly and stonefly hatches are pretty much done, at least here in Missouri until the Spring. So our man Sid throws a yelloW sally (a yellow stimulator pattern) with rubber legs. It’s a dry fly pattern – on top. He nails two very nice rainbows. Maybe sometimes it pays to think outside the box!!

This makes sense, Sids the Man.

Maybe we need to add the yellow sally to our Wednesday night fly tying line up.
