  It seems many people use a wooly bugger at Montauk State Park.
  
  The question is “How do you fish the wooly bugger at Montauk?” Specifically, how do you fish it in the Blue Hole, the Boulder area, the long deep slow hole below the boulder, and the fast run below the Blue Hole(Walters Run).
  
  Do you fish it like a midge with an indicator, do you strip it like a streamer, do you swing it, or wing it out there and hope for the best?
  
  Any suggestions?

  Below the Blue Hole I saw Sid high sticking with a Wooley Bugger, as Kenny calls it, Sid called it site fishing. No indicator.

  I have never had any luck with the bugger until recently. In fact, I held those who swore by it with a great deal of skepticism. However, the last 2 times I’ve fished there, I caught a few fish by casting it 45 degrees upstream and stripping it back as it moved downstream. This was in the riffle area just downstream from the powerline cut. Caught only one at the top end, but 3 hammered it at the bottom end.
  
  The only thing I did different was used a larger fly. This one is tied on a size 4 hook, whereas the others I had were only a size 10 or 12.
  
  I also tried with the same bugger in the Blue hole and didn’t have any luck there. I tried just letting it sink and swing through, as well as stripping it. I couldn’t get anything to take it there. The last few times I’ve not had any luck at the blue hole.
